OLM POETRY
In the dark and murky caves below
A strange creature lives, you may not know
A salamander like no other
The olm, a wonder to discover
Its skin is pink, its eyes can’t see
But it knows its way around with glee
With senses tuned to taste and smell
It finds its prey, all will tell
The olm is small, but it is tough
It lives where the environment is rough
Low oxygen and scarce food supply
But the olm finds a way to get by
With gills outside, it breathes with ease
The olm moves like a gentle breeze
In search of crustaceans and insects too
It glides through the water, with a steady view
In the dark and murky caves below
A strange creature lives, you should know
A salamander like no other
The olm, a wonder to discover.
